The Structure of Density-Potential Mapping. Part I: Standard Density-Functional Theory

چکیده

The Hohenberg–Kohn theorem of density-functional theory (DFT) is broadly considered the conceptual basis for a full characterization an electronic system in its ground state by just one-body particle density. Part I this review aims at clarifying status within DFT and II different extensions that include magnetic fields. We collect evidence does not so much form DFT, but rather consequence more comprehensive mathematical framework. Such results are especially useful when it comes to construction generalized DFTs.

A Density Functional Theory Study of Structure of Phosphonic Acid

The molecular structure of the stable conformation of phosphonic acid in gas phase has beencomputed by employing complete geometry optimization in Density Functional Theory(DFT) methods. The methods used for calculations are B3LYP, BP86 and B3PW91 that havebeen studied in two series of basis sets: D95** and 6-31+G(d,p) for hydrogen and oxygenatoms; LANL2DZ for phosphorus. Bond lengths and angle...

Uniqueness of the density-to-potential mapping in excited-state density-functional theory

References: Fig.1: Two potentials (middle panel) giving the same excited-state density (upper panel) along with their corresponding ground-state densities (lower panel) for an excited-state of the three electron 1D infinitely deep well model system. The question of whether there exists a mapping from an excited-state density to a potential is central to performing density-functional calculation...

Existence, uniqueness, and construction of the density-potential mapping in time-dependent density-functional theory.

In this work we review the mapping from densities to potentials in quantum mechanics, which is the basic building block of time-dependent density-functional theory and the Kohn-Sham construction. We first present detailed conditions such that a mapping from potentials to densities is defined by solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. We specifically discuss intricacies connected with t...
